Swimming Marathon Organization Regulations and Olympic Swimming Marathon Tickets

Swim organizations, for the purposes of their record keeping, often impose other rules. FINA and International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame do not keep records for swims that employ thermal insulating material, drag reduction fabric, buoyancy aide, breathing apparatus, propulsion prosthetic, etc.... For major channel crossings, most organizations do allow the swimmer to use outside help.

An example being that the swimmer swims alongside a boat which uses sophisticated electronics and telecommunications to help the swimmer take the easiest path through surface currents and tides. Such boats can also make the challenge easier for the swimmer by blocking wind and surface chop. Such boats also carry food and hot beverages for the swimmer to consume periodically during the swim.
In another variant, some swim organizations simply have different sets of records for different equipment scenarios, similar to the structure of free diving record keeping.

Swimming Balance and Olympic Swimming Tickets

Due to the lungs, the center of buoyancy and the center of gravity of the human body are not the same. Therefore the lower body has a tendency to sink. If the body is not horizontal but even slightly inclined, the area it offers to drag is much higher, leading to higher resistance. An easy way to stay horizontal is to lean forward and position the head straight in the extension of the spine. In this position the eyes are directed straight downward and the head is more immersed.
At the water surface, resistance is proportional to the breadth of a boat. Lying flat on the chest in freestyle or on the back in backstroke exposes the breadth of the body to the water. Rolling on the side reduces the breadth and the resistance. In freestyle and backstroke, one should roll from one side to the other in the stroke and glide on the side as much as possible. When taking breaths, one should take them as little as possible; for beginners it is good to breathe every three strokes and the more trained you are the more strokes in between each breath.
Sailboats are categorized according to boat length. This is due to the wave resistance at the surface. According to Froude, a naval architect in the 19th century, a body moving at the surface of the water creates a wave. The length of the wave depends on the speed. Faster the boat longer the wave. Froude found that resistance goes up dramatically when the wave length reaches the length of the boat. There is a simple formula connecting wave velocity to wave length (dispersion equation, metric):

Here c is the velocity of the wave in m/s, g is the gravitational acceleration (9.81 m/s2), and l is the wave length in m. If the maximum swimming speed ofc=2.1 m/s is entered, one gets a length of l=2.82 m. This is about the length of a 2 m swimmer with extended arms. So the longer you can glide with the extended arm the less wave resistance. This is also called front quadrant swimming.

Synchronized Swimming Competitions in USA and Canada

A standard meet begins with the swimmers doing "figures", which are positions performed individually without music. All swimmers must compete wearing the standard black swimsuit and white swim cap, as well as goggles and a nose clip. Figures are performed in front of a panel of 5 judges who score individual swimmers from 1 to 10 (10 being the best). After the figure competition, the routines begin.

In the United States, competitors are divided into groups by age. The seven age groups are: 10 and Under, 11–12, 13–15, 16–17, 18–19, Junior (elite 15–18), Senior (elite 18+), Collegiate, and Master. In addition to these groups, younger swimmers may be divided by ability into 3 levels: Novice, Intermediate, and Age Group. Swimmers compete year-round at competitions called "meets". Each swimmer may compete in up to three of the following routine events: solo, duet, trio, combo (consisting of eight to ten swimmers, and team (consisting of four to eight swimmers). Figure scores are combined with routines to determine the final rankings. USA Synchro's annual intercollegiate championships have been dominated by The Ohio State University, Stanford University, and The University of the Incarnate Word.
In Canada, synchronized swimming has an age-based Tier Structure system with age groups 8 & under to 16 & over. There is also a skill level which is Tier 6 and 7, as well as competition at the Masters and University levels. Tiers 6 and 7 are national stream athletes that fall in line with international age groups – Tier 6 is 15 and under and Tier 7 is Junior (16–18) and Senior (18+) level athletes. There are also the Wild rose age group. This is for competitors before they reach Tier 6. Wild rose ranges from Tier 1–5. These are also competitive levels. There are also the recreational levels which are called "stars". Synchrony Canada requires that a competitor must pass Star 3 before entering Tier 1. To get into a Tier a swimmer must take a test for that Tier. In these tests, the swimmer must be able to perform the required movements for the level.

Hyde Park and Olympic Swimming marathon Tickets

Hyde Park is one of the largest parks in central London, United Kingdom, and one of the Royal Parks of London, famous for its Speakers' Corner.
The park is divided in two by the Serpentine. The park is contiguous with Kensington Gardens; although often still assumed to be part of Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens has been technically separate since 1728, when Queen Caroline made a division between the two. Hyde Park covers 350 acres and Kensington Gardens covers 275 acres, giving an overall area of 625 acres, making the combined area larger than the Principality of Monaco 484 acres, though smaller than New York City's Central Park (843 acres). To the southeast, outside of the park, is Hyde Park Corner. Although, during daylight, the two parks merge seamlessly into each other, Kensington Gardens closes at dusk but Hyde Park remains open throughout the year from 5 am until midnight.
Hyde Park is the largest of four parks which form a chain from the entrance of Kensington Palace through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, via Hyde Park Corner and Green Park, past the main entrance to Buckingham Palace and then on through Saint James's Park to Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall. The park was the site of The Great Exhibition of 1851, for which the Crystal Palace was designed by Joseph Paxton. The park has become a traditional location for mass demonstrations. The Chartists, the Reform League, the Suffragettes and the Stop the War Coalition have all held protests in the park. Many protestors on the Liberty and Livelihood March in 2002 started their march from Hyde Park. On 20 July 1982 in the Hyde Park and Regents Park bombings, two bombs linked to the Provisional Irish Republican Army caused the death of eight members of the Household Cavalry and the Royal Green Jackets and seven horses.

London Aquatics Centre and Olympic Swimming Tickets

The London Aquatics Centre is an indoor facility with two 50 meter Olympic Swimming pools and a 25 meter diving pool, which will be one of the main venues of the London 2012 Summer Olympics and the London 2012 Summer Paralympics.
It was designed by Pritzker Prize winning architect Zaha Hadid in 2004 before London won the bid. The centre is located in the Olympic Park at Stratford in east London. With its distinctive architecture and curved roof, it will be the first venue visitors see upon entering the Olympic Park. The design software used was Oasys, the software division of Arup. The drainage design software used was from Micro Drainage. The Project Architect was Jim Heverin. The site is 45 meters high, 160 meters long and 80 meters wide.
The Aquatics Centre contract was awarded to Balfour Beatty in April 2008. At the same time it was reported that the centre would cost about three times as was originally estimated, totaling about £242m. The cost increases were attributed to construction inflation and VAT increases, and also included the estimated cost of converting the facility for public use after the Olympics and Paralympics. The roof is stated to be 11,200 square feet, a reduction from the previously stated 35,000 square feet. Despite the cost increases, the centre should stay within the total construction budget for the event, which is an estimated £6.09bn.
Construction started in July 2008 and was completed in July 2011. The aluminum roof covering has been provided by Kalzip. The steel structure was built in cooperation with Rowe cord Engineering. The ceiling was built with 30,000 sections of Red Lauro timber. The six board dive tower is made from 462 tons of concrete. The steel roof weighs 3,200 tons. The three pools hold around 10 million liters of water. The centre will be used for the Olympic event of Olympic Swimming, diving, and synchronized Olympic Swimming, and for the Paralympics event of Olympic Swimming. During the Games it will have a capacity of 17,500, which will be reduced to 2,500 after the Games. It is expected that the centre will leave a legacy of replacing the pools at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in South London as London's leading facility for aquatic sports.
